Recent Television News

Hello all! I am sorry for being away for a while. I wanted to just take a break for the holiday season, and school just started so I have been settling in. I will be posting more content since a lot of my shows are starting to come back on. This has been a very big week for television with many things being revealed to us. Though I do not watch many of the shows that will be mentioned in this blog, I do know that some of my readers watch certain ones. So without further ado, let us get to some news.

First I would like to blow all of your minds by saying that today is the 15th anniversary of the premiere of Drake and Josh. Let that sink in. Feel old yet?

In Breaking News, The Walking Dead has been renewed for a 10th season that is most likely set to air in October. I am happy about this considering this season has been a breath of life in comparison to the recent seasons.

Criminal Minds has been renewed for a 15th and final season. The season will consist of ten episodes. Fans were both sad and happy mainly for the fact that the show will receive a proper ending. I never really got into the show, but what an accomplishment for a show to last that long. Congrats to the cast, producers, and fans!

After the shocking cancellation of beloved show Brooklyn Nine-Nine by Fox last year, the show premiered last night on NBC with over 3.5 million viewers, the most watched episode in two seasons. Congrats to the fans who made sure their show did not go anywhere. I am very happy for you.

New streaming shows that released on Friday (today) include Netflix's Sex Education and Friends from College season two. Hulu also released the second season of Future Man. I have not seen any of these shows, but you never know. I may watch them in the future!

Critically-acclaimed actor Al Pacino is set to star in Jordan Peele's The Hunt. The show is based on a true story of Nazi hunters who track down Nazi war criminals in the United States. The show is set to premiere on Amazon, so anyone who is interested, get ready!

The CW released their spring premiere dates for their television shows! Jane the Virgin- The Final Season will premiere on March 27th, The 100 will premiere on April 30th, iZombie- The Final Season will premiere on May 2nd, Legends of Tomorrow will premiere on April 1st, and finally fan-favorite Arrow will premiere on April 15th. I am not the biggest fan of the CW, but it is a widely popular channel with many fans, so I cannot judge!

On Sunday January 13th, the third season of True Detective returns after a long hiatus. The third season takes place in the Ozarks as two children disappear. I am very excited for the new season to start. I watched the first season earlier this year, and I was enamored by it. I did not bother watching season two because I heard it was garbage. So far I have heard mostly positive reviews about the third season, so fingers crossed. Also, I have heard that the premiere date for the final season of Game of Thrones will be announced sometime before or after the True Detective premiere, so keep a look out!

For all of you Big Brother fans out there, the second season's cast of the celebrity edition will be announced on Sunday. I have heard rumblings of Joey Lawrence and Tiffany "New York" Pollard being on, so that should be fun! Hopefully the season will be as great as the first season's (with less quitters).

Before I end my post, I watched the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, and I was mainly rolling my eyes or yawning, but congratulations to Sandra Oh on her win for her portrayal as Eve on Killing Eve. She is absolutely amazing in that show, and I cannot wait for season two. Also congrats to Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper for their win for their song "Shallow" from A Star is Born. I have yet to watch the movie, but I have been a fan of the song ever since it came out! One more congrats I have to give is to Darren Criss as real-life serial killer Andrew Cunanan in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace. Criss did an impeccable job, and he deserves all of the accolades. If you have not watched the series yet, I highly recommend it!

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I cannot wait for the new year. Here is to 2019! Hope it's a good one for everybody!
